How much firewood do you get in a crate of kiln dried logs?

Knowing how much firewood you need to keep your wood burner or open fire blazing during the burning season can be tricky.

Do you go for a large quantity to see you through the winter months or do you instead buy smaller amounts on a regular basis?

Advantages of buying a crate of kiln dried logs

There are several advantages to buying a crate of logs - providing you have the space to store it.

One is that they offer very good value for money as you are getting a lot of firewood for a great price.

You also get more logs in a crate than you do in a bag. This is because the firewood in a crate is packed tightly whereas if you buy logs in a bag, they are loose so you won’t get as many. A crate of firewood will likely last you throughout the winter too so you won’t need to top up your supply very often either.

We have several types of crates of kiln dried logs of both ash and birch that you can buy.

Regular Crate

Our Regular Crates mean you get around 2.5 large builders bags of logs. This is ideal if you normally have your wood burner roaring in the evenings and at the weekends and there will be more than enough to keep it going for a few months.

Regular Plus

If you need something slightly bigger, our Regular Plus crates have approximately 2.7 large builders bags of logs. Again, this is suitable if you are lighting a fire in the evenings during the week and at the weekends but perhaps want it to burn for a bit longer. You get around 12KG of additional logs compared to a regular crate.

Large Crate

For those of you who plan to have your log burner firing away on a fairly consistent basis, a large crate is the answer. It has around 3.5 builders bags of logs so you are getting a lot of firewood for your money. Perfect for having your fire roaring throughout the whole winter.

Monster Crate

Finally we have our Monster Crate which consists of one large crate and one regular crate. It is around 5.5 builders bags of logs all neatly stacked. If you need a large quantity of firewood our Monster Crates offer fantastic value for money.

All of the firewood in our crates of kiln dried logs are certified by Wood Sure so they have a low moisture content. We also offer free delivery throughout England and Wales.
